Privacy Policy
At Elevate Language Lab, we are committed to protecting the privacy of our students and their families. This policy explains how we collect, use, and protect your information, specifically in accordance with the Children's Online Privacy Protection Act (COPPA).
1. Information We Collect
We collect personal information necessary to provide elite language instruction:
- From Parents: Name, email address, phone number, and billing information used for verifiable parental consent and subscription management.
- From Students: Name, grade level, and language proficiency.
- Academic Conflict Prevention: We collect the name of the student's current school and current school-day language teacher(s). This is used solely to ensure students are not paired with their primary school instructor, maintaining professional boundaries.
- Instructional Data: During sessions, we may collect audio or video recordings and written work to track progress and provide pedagogical feedback.
2. How We Use Your Information
Your information is used solely for providing and improving our services, including:
- Matching students with the most suitable licensed educators.
- Facilitating secure session delivery via Google Meet.
- Generating monthly Mastery Reports to track student progress.
- Managing anniversary-based billing and administrative scheduling.
3. Data Sharing & Third Parties
We do not sell personal information. Your data is only shared with:
- Assigned Educators: To the extent necessary for providing instruction.
- Service Providers: Secure third-party platforms for session delivery (Google Meet) and payment processing. These providers are prohibited from using your data for any other purpose.
4. COPPA Compliance & Parental Rights
We do not knowingly collect information from children under 13 without Verifiable Parental Consent. Consent is obtained through the secure credit card transaction during enrollment. Parents have the following "absolute" rights:
- Review: You may request to review the information we have collected about your child.
- Delete: You may request the deletion of your child's information at any time.
- Revoke: You may revoke consent and refuse further collection or use of your child's information.
5. Data Protection & Retention
We take rigorous measures, including encryption, to protect your information. We only retain a child's personal information as long as necessary to fulfill the educational purpose. Once a student is no longer enrolled, their personal data is securely deleted.
